Terms of Use for the "Speech on the Beach" Program

Welcome to "Speech on the Beach," a program offered by THE EDWARDS GROUPS. By enrolling in or participating in this program, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not participate in the program or access related materials.

1. Program Overview

"Speech on the Beach" is a live, immersive program designed to enhance communication and presentation skills. This program includes:

  • Live workshops are conducted in/near beachfront locations.
  • Interactive activities and exercises.
  • Access to supplemental course materials and resources, which may be delivered digitally or in print.

Participation in this program is governed by these Terms of Use and any additional agreements or policies provided during enrollment.

2. Intellectual Property

All content provided as part of the "Speech on the Beach" program, including but not limited to workshop materials, videos, exercises, templates, and branded content, is the exclusive property of THE EDWARDS GROUPS or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You May:

  • Use program materials for your personal development and as intended during the program.
  • Take notes and create summaries for your personal use.

You May Not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or share program materials without prior written permission.
  • Record live sessions or redistribute any portion of the program or resources to anyone else for any purpose.
  • Use program content for commercial purposes or teach similar programs based on the content without express consent.

3. Participation Requirements

By enrolling in "Speech on the Beach," you agree to:

  • Fully participate in the scheduled sessions and activities.
  • Refrain from disruptive behavior that may hinder the experience of other participants.
  • Respect the confidentiality of discussions or exercises conducted during the program.

Failure to comply with these requirements may result in removal from the program without a refund.

4. Refund and Cancellation Policy

The "Speech on the Beach" program includes a $500 deposit, which is non-refundable. Refunds for cancellations are calculated based on the cost of the retreat only and do not include any expenses participants may incur for accommodations, travel, or other arrangements with third-party providers (e.g., resorts, airlines). Participants are solely responsible for independently managing their bookings and any associated cancellation policies with these third parties.

Refund Schedule:

  • Cancellations Made On or Before January 7th:
    Participants will receive a refund of 50% of the retreat cost, minus the $500 deposit.

  • Cancellations Made After January 7th:
    No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after this date.

  • If someone else is able to fill your spot before January on or before January 15th, then you will receive the full refund equivalent to the rate that your replacement is paying minus the $500 deposit.
  • Depending on costs already committed to the venue and vendors, a large portion or all of the money paid may be transferred to a future SoaB Retreat.

Important Notes:

  • The refund applies strictly to the retreat registration fee and does not include any third-party expenses, such as resort accommodations, flights, or other travel-related costs.

  • Participants are encouraged to secure travel insurance to mitigate potential losses from cancellations.

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to team@edwardsgroup.org

 

5. Limitation of Liability

THE EDWARDS GROUPS is not liable for:

  • Injuries, accidents, or illnesses occurring during the program or while traveling to/from the program location.
  • Loss, theft, or damage of personal property during the program.
  • Dissatisfaction with the program or outcomes achieved.

Participants are encouraged to secure travel insurance to cover unforeseen issues.

6. Code of Conduct

To ensure a positive and supportive environment, participants agree to:

  • Treat facilitators, staff, and fellow participants with respect.
  • Avoid harassment, discriminatory behavior, or inappropriate conduct or inappropriate language.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and rules provided by program staff and the venue.

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in immediate dismissal from the program without a refund.

7. Program Modifications

THE EDWARDS GROUPS reserves the right to modify the program schedule, content, location, or facilitators due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be notified as soon as possible.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The "Speech on the Beach" program and all associated materials are provided "as is." THE EDWARDS GROUPS makes no guarantees regarding:

  • Specific outcomes or results from program participation.
  • Suitability of the program for individual needs or expectations.

Participants are responsible for applying the knowledge and skills gained during the program.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from participation in the program will be resolved through:

  1. Good-Faith Negotiations: Parties agree to attempt resolution through dialogue.
  2. Binding Arbitration or Small Claims Court: If unresolved, disputes will be handled in Brunswick County, North Carolina or South Carolina depending on the Edwards Groups’s choice.
